"This car is effortless in so many ways. It rises the bar for what automotive safety should be. It has breathtaking technology, and overwhelming performance for its weight and size. This car cannot be compared to anything else, cars are compared too it. The s class has been nown to showcase mercedes-benz's latest and most advanced sytems and computers. Distronic plus and the second generation pre-safe is what catchs my attention. The way mercedes thought about all of this and rethought it all again, was extrodinary. So much effort, time , and engineering went into the overall car. The engine is more fuel efficient than previous models. And the way mercedes uses organic and recycable materials for the seats. This car is the greatest car in the world, and there's possibly more models to come."

"I have now owned my 2007 S550 for 1 1/2 years and have put 18000 miles on it. I cannot tell you about reliability because I have no issues. The car has been perfect. It is fast, a driver's car, tomorrow's electronics, and amazingly enough, very economical. I average almost 19 miles per gallon overall and over 24 on the highway.
Having had the Lexus LS before, there are three major differences. 1) The S class allows you to work the GPS and map while you are driving. On the road, in traffic this is a must. I may have my wife do it while I am driving if complicated, but a must. The Lexus locked me out. 2) It is not boring to drive. It is a driver's car. It has picked up a lot from the older BMW 7 series in that you feel enough of the road to manage it, enjoy it and own it. 3) the interior just feels and looks richer ... leathers, wood, stainless steel buttons, etc.
The negative is that the sound though the microphones for the blue tooth phone is bad for others to listen to."

"I own a 2007 S550 4Matic, delivered first week of November 2006. Summary: great ride in terms of handling, performance and user-friendliness, but major quality problems during the 10,000 miles, I have owned the car up to now. Major quality problems up to now: 1 the engine had been wrongly mounted, causing vibrations in the powertrain. Mind you, the front axle and the steering column had to be decoupled to be able to replace the engine mounts! 2 engine oil sensor was defective, requiring two stops at the dealer and exchange of the sensor in the engine 3 the premium leather of the front seats had been improperly stitched and wrongly put over the seats. Result: the seats had to be redone. 4 the anti-lock brakes have locked twice. The dealer has not been able to find out, what happened. 5 the wiper/washer system at times wipes, when there is no water on the windshield, and at times does not wipe, when the windshield is full of rain water."

"It doesn't matter if your driving 10 miles or 10,000 this car will baby you every step of the way. I've had four S class cars since 1996 and this is the smoothest one of the lot."

"I think even most avid BMW lovers will admit that Mercedes has left their German competitor in the dust. The new S600 currently has no competition in its class. The car performs amazingly and has all of the plush comfort anyone could ever need. The new Mercedes has altered the standards for high-end cars for many years to come."
