"I've owned my C30 T5 for about a year and LOVE it. I was able to buy it used with only 7500 miles on it for a great price. It has fast acceleration, handles well in city traffic, really moves on the highway, and makes a terrific vrrrrrrooom vrrrrooom sound when passing. This is not my husband's staid S80 Volvo! It's more fun than I thought you could have driving a Volvo, yet it still has 4 seats, a very usable hatch area, and of course the Volvo safety features. I'd definitely buy it again."

"This car is the very best value out there. Aside from it's looks, it handles well even in bad weather, has a very comfy interior, is very fast, and is very reasonable to insure making it a great value overall for operating costs. The only thing I would change is to eek out a few more MPG's. I get about 26 with regular, but if I use a gas treatment every other tank I get closer to 29-30. This automobile is definitely worth a few extra dollars at purchase time; the safety and reliability is second to none! I am Volvo for life:)"

"When I first saw the car, I intermediately fell in love with its look. I did a little research and found that it was one of only a few sporty cars that comes with a manual transmission. The dealer waved the $300 custom equipment fee so we went to town with the options. White leather, Saphire black exterior, 17" wheels for a softer ride. It has a 650 Watt 11 speaker stereo with satellite radio which is wonderful. The trip computer is interesting and up dates constantly. The car handles well and gives a very quit ride. The engine is a jewel, very peppy and has a nice sound when passing. The look of the car is amazing and they are very RARE in the NY area. I avoided the sun roof since it was very small and almost unnoticable from the drivers seat. The power heated seats warm right up and the controls for the radio and temperature are very logical and well thought out. I have nearly 10 thousand miles on it in just over a year and have loved every minute. The EPA milage figures are very accurate and you can run it on regular gas. 93 Octane gives it a little more punch, but not much. I recommend the electric fold in rear view mirrors and the soft cargo cover."

"I'm 47 and until this year have never considered a Volvo. The 2008 C30, with automatic geartronic shifting, is really fun to drive and looks really unique. It accelerates rapidly and smoothly, and it can corner at fairly fast speeds. I tinted the rear hatch window and two rear passenger windows fairly dark. I also tinted the two roll-up windows with a light tint, and the car took on a whole new level of unique coolness! The only suggestion I have for Volvo engineers is to squeeze a few more MPG out of the engine without reducing H.P."

"I live in a small Washington town and this car is perfect for my everyday life. Whether it be driving to school, going camping with my fellas, or fallowing around this Disney Princess I know and saving her from the harsh backstreets... this is the car to have.
Not only am I razzled dazzled by its styling and handling, but it's sound system is excellent for my Debbusy.
I'm proud to be a stupid, shiny volvo owner!
I love this car!"

"I wanted a small, fun car to take into retirement. I was convinced I wanted a Mini Cooper S and was ready to order when I saw a review of the C30.
My wife and I checked it out at the dealer and fell in love. I custom ordered and it arrived in 6 weeks (East coast). Unlike the Mini dealers, Volvo will discount. I got the same equipment and a little more for $1,400 less than the Cooper S.
Pros:
1. Looks 2. performance 3. Interior design 4. Terrific sound system 5. Excellent mileage for a fast car 6. Actually useful for road trips
Cons:
1. Access to back seat
This car is achieving iconic status. It is the car on the California DMV website and will star in a movie to be released in December."

"My wife and I recently bought a C30 version 2.0 with manual transmission and love it! My wife didn't like the car when we first ordered it, but after riding in it for 5 minutes, she wouldn't trade this fun car in for anything. After 1000 miles, here are our thoughts...
Pros: - Great exterior styling - nothing else on the road looks like it! - Most comfortable car seats we have ever sat in. - Handling is incredible; nothing is more fun than cruising in the C30 up and down a winding hillside road. - Dynaudio sound system is amazing. The car is so incredibly quiet at baseline - when the surround sound is turned up, the car sounds like a symphony hall. - There's more room in the back than on first glance. - The powerful T5 engine is responsive and really wants to go! The manual transmission is easy to drive with easy, medium throw gear shifts. - Very customizable. - Perfect car size if you're looking to parallel park in the city. You can fit this car almost anywhere.
Cons - The customization costs $300. As others have alluded to, it's kind of expensive just to add cruise control, trip computer, or something simple like a bottle holder. We were able to get our dealer to waive this though. You may have to wait 2-3 months to get the custom car delivered from Sweden if your desired configuration isn't here in the US. - Fuel mileage is not so great for a car this size - so far I've gotten 22-23 mpg city, 30 mpg highway. - Instrument panel LCD would have been better in color. It's been tricky learning to gauge things like temperature control.
Overall we've enjoyed the car - it fits the needs of a young married couple perfectly!"

"August 07: I saw an ad for the C30 fly across my computer screen a few months back. I looked, and loved...at first. I'm not married, but have a long-term boyfriend, 3 fat cats, and live in Colorado. I was at first a little disappointed that there was no 4-Wheel Drive option, but I'd get over it. I thought this was the "it" car. But I'd have to wait for them to begin arriving in the US. October 07: I waited, looked at other brands (Honda, Mazda, Jeep, etc) and ruled out the C30 because of it's very small size. I don't carry a lot of stuff, but when I need the space, I won't want to feel betrayed by the little car a fell in love with. January08: Still searching for "the" car, and went and drove the C30 again, and even almost bought one. I thought I'd get over the small size of the trunk (only 12 cubic feet with seats up...the least "hatch-back" feature of this car). I must note, I will only drive a hatch-back if I buy a car. I love the functionality of being able to fold the seats down and load just about anything inside because there is no fixed rear deck. Just about the sign the paperwork and the boyfriend mentions this one doesn't have cruise control. What? Really? Oh, now I remember that this car is totally customizable and cruise is not a standard feature. Ok, what will it cost to add it?? $470 and a day of time. What? Really? Let's rethink this amazing little car. I measured the widest point on the trunk...only ~32 inches wide. Not terrible, but please review the odd shape of this opening. The WIDEST point on the trunk opening would only allow you to fit a piece of card board that wide. meaning, no square stuff. Also, the sloping glass, nothing too square or you'd have to fold the seats down. Ok, folding seats are a great feature, but so is having 5 seats, and being able to take people and luggage. Hmm...Give me time to think over this one. Also, for the price of the one I almost purchased, $24460 with my X-plan discount ($25600 on the sticker) + $470 for cruise, plus dealer handling, plus premium fuel...the Honda CR-V Ex model is $24875 + dealer handling...& regular fuel, with an extra 12 cubic feet of cargo/passenger space. I think the interior of the C30 is striking. I love the waterfall dash display, I love the comfortable seats. It's fun to drive. But I never want to be limited by the car that I drive...I fear I will regret this one too much."

"I decided to go test drive the new C30 before buying my next Mini Cooper S. At first glance saw the car and loved it. The rear is unique and stylish. the front typical volvo. Interior is a big dissapointment; extensive cheap plastic, seats are no more comfortable than my V6 accord coupe. No paddle shifts. Center console is very weird and control panel reminds me of my plasma TV remote control. Ride is more comfortable than the mini but lacks feedback. Rear seats leg room are more comfortable compared with other hatchbacks. The main drawback is price with the 1.0 version in the low 23,000 and 2.0 in the high 27,000. The one I tested the dealer was asking $32,900. As soon I realized the high sticker price, I decided to return to the Mini dealer and bought a white Mini S with sport suspension and Agitronic Automatic for $26,000. you do the math...."
