"This car combines great handling with excellent brakes. It is a very responsive and well designed car. My combined mileage has hovered around 45. The EX model is the way to go. I did not get the Nav system - too costly. I use my Garmin Nuvi which works great.
The body structure is tight and strong and the front seats are comfortable. The rear seat is a little tight for tall people and the carge area is more than adequate. The fit and finish are top notch.
I test drove the 2010 Prius before I drove and purchased the Insight. I did not like the Prius handling or brake response.
I have had the car less than 3 months and have driven 8,000 miles. I have not had a single problem with this car. It is a very synergistic car - all components works well together.
Based upon the cost, quality, handling and fuel economy, I highly recommend this car."

"I purchased an Insight LX a couple of months ago, and have been very happy with it thus far. While I was originally planning to purchase a Prius, my wife already has a Prius and we decided that it would make more sense to get a smaller (and cheaper!) vehicle for my commute (about 12 miles each way).
The insight is not going to blow anybody away performance-wise (although in sport mode with econ off it blows the Prius out of the water), but my 47.1 mpg average over about 6000 miles so far more than makes up for that. I haven't had any problems with the car, and find it to be generally comfortable and sort of fun to drive. I miss having a manual transmission, but the CVT in the Insight is, from what I hear, a necessity in terms of getting the maximum benefit from the hybrid system.
While the Insight is small, its form factor makes it surprisingly versatile. I frequently need to move large boxes, and my dog's kennel, and have had no problems in that regard (far better than my old '08 civic). The car actually feels smallest in terms of its width, though other than sacrificing center console space, that doesn't seem to be a big deal. I definitely would not recommend this vehicle for anybody who routinely needs to have three people in the rear seat, although I've had two adult passengers in back on a few occasions and have had no complaints.
The interior is definitely that of a budget vehicle, but is generally well-configured and attractive. I'm a huge fan of the hybrid-specific display readouts, which provide some useful fuel economy information and nice cues regarding real-time driving efficiency.
In terms of features, the Insight EX and EX Nav are certainly more full-featured than my LX, but I can't complain too much (considering its purpose as a commuter vehicle). The LX lacks cruise control and variable intermittent wipers, but includes temperature-based climate control and an external temperature sensor, which I'm not used to seeing on base-level vehicles.
All-in-all, I'm happy with my little Insight, and would highly recommend to others who are looking for an efficient, versatile, and relatively inexpensive vehicle."

"My previous vehicle was a Honda Civic Hybrid and I loved that. After putting a quick 100,000 with no problems on that, I decided to get a new car this summer. I fell in love with the Insight 2010 EX. It was a lot more bang for the buck than the Prius and somehow it seemed more comfortable too. I've put 8000 miles on her in five months, on lots of long drives and local commutes and I couldn't be happier. I was a teen of the 80's and I missed the hatchback - and now I have it again. I can fit soooo much in the back of the Insight. My mileage is great too - I average around 42.5mpg and I live in the mountains where I have to do heavy climbing every single day. When I come down out of hills for longer drives I get much better mileage - in the low fifties. I'd recommend this car to anyone in a heartbeat!"

"Owner for one month only, so can't give you an opinion on reliability, but as for everything else pretty much a 5. We have been get 51.4 mpg city. We put on alot of miles and know we made a wise decision on picking this hybird over the others. Looking forward to seeing what we get on the highway. Only negative is to get that mpg you must not put the "foot down to the metal" So with that said give yourself extra time and enjoy life and whats around you (not much of a sacarfice)to make."

"I got this car mainly for the MPG. I chose it over the prius because of the lower cost although I was tempted to get the prius because of its significantly higher MPG. However after putting about 1000 miles on the Insight I have been surprised to find out that it actually gets about the same MPG as the Prius! I am getting 49.1 which is pretty close to what the prius is advertised to get. I drive on freeways a lot and on the freeway I am getting about 52, on city streets about 43-44. If you can get it at a good price it is worth it."

"Just put over 5000 mile's drive mostly highway avg. 46 mpg per tank very pleased use cruise constantly and hyper drive at each chance mostly go with the flow 8-10 over speed limit in am avg 62 mles per hr pm 40 miles each way rolling hills a few flats here on the parkway in CT. between milford and wethersfield.hit 52.6mpg at 60miles per hr. today hoping as engine wears in I can get 47per tank I have no doubt on a flat run that car will get 50plus all day.Trying to obtain max milage without tick'n off fellow comuters is not to hard to accomplish.great milage for the price much less than the toyota again I'm getting 46 per tank without much difficulty stay in the green and you will save some green. Oh my acura got 22mpg no matter if I went 75 or 55.I'm happy"

"It has been hard to find a car that fits me perfectly. I am under 5' tall and want to sit a distance away from the airbags, but still reach the peddles. The Insight allows the steering wheel to telescope as well as adjust up or downward. I am able to reach the peddles, see over the steering wheel, and not worry about the airbags deploying at a dangerous speed.
The car handles well around country roads but, also has good "pick-up" entering the highway. The added "eco" feature makes the car a fun car to drive. We have had the car 2 months and driven over 4,500 miles, averaging 44 miles to the gallon.
I highly recommend the Insight! I love my new Insight!!"

"I am currently 5,000 mile into ownership. My MPG has improved with each fillup, starting at about 43 (right at EPA estimates) and I am currently running a 52.3 MPG. I drive 65 miles per day in rolling hills, mixed local and highway driving, using AC only when I am up to speed and running with cruse control. The instrumentation is always in your face about your driving style and provides feedback on your every move. I adjust the tire pressure on a regular basis and run a couple pounds short of the max tire pressure listed on the tire. the ride is harsh because of the low rolling resistance tires (at higher pressure than nominal) but I am happy to trade some comfort for MPG. I recently ran from the New Jersey boarder to Glens Falls NY and back to central NJ (at speed limit +5to10)on one tank (480 miles when my range indicator hit 0 miles). I topped off the tank with 9.5 gallons.
My previous car was a Honda Civic so the interior and feel of the car is similar. I love the additional features that are in the EX insight. The auto AC and USB connection to the radio are well used. I rate Performance high because I view fuel consumption as the key performance attribute of this type of car. Exterior styling and function is average mostly due to the split rear window. I purchased this car purly for fuel economy and not for some green political statement and don't necessarily care if people know that I am in a hybrid."

"I purchased my 2010 Insight on a whim. I was just pricing hybrids because I had just purchased a 2007 Honda Civic less than a year and a half earlier becasue of an accident. The Civic was wonderful, but I had really wanted a hybrid. The dealer showed me an Insight that had been custom designed by the dealership and I fell in love. My Insight includes features like leather seats and a moon roof that are generally hard to come by. For the most part I have really enjoyed driving this car- it is definatley a learning experience. The control options really teach you the most fuel efficient driving techniques. I am not that impressed with the gas milage just yet. My Honda Civic (not a hybrid) generally produced over 30 mpg city, and sometimes 40 mpg on the highway. On a recent road trip, my Insight provided about 43 mpgs highway, but that is the most I have seen. I am a little concerned about the small cabin and lack of leg and head room in the backseat, but I figure I won't ever be back there so it doesn't directly effect me. Overall I really like my Insight and I would recommed it to anyone and everyone."

"This is my fourth Honda vehicle in a row - an Insight LX 2010. My previous vehicle was an Accord Coupe 6 cyl which I bought for the lines and the speed. The lease was up, however, and I happened to see an Insight in the city a couple of weeks before going to the dealership. I loved the lines of the Insight and when I found out it was a Hybrid I was convinced.
I've owned the vehicle for slightly over 2 weeks now, and have done both highway and city driving. I am getting about 6.0L/100km (38 mpg) on the highway, and about 5.5L/100km (44 mpg) in the city. I'm probably driving too fast on the highway to get optimal consumption - Canadian highways, especially in Quebec, are relatively fast. Still, the results are close to the specs for the vehicle - and less than half what I was getting with the earlier vehicle! I'm expecting to do better as I re-learn to drive :) and as the car breaks in.
Still haven't worked out the bluetooth connection, or the mp3 connection, but the nav system is super, as is the voice activation of the radio, nav system, etc!
I love the feedback on gas consumption I'm getting. My earlier car encouraged me towards high gas consumption in exchange for speed - this one leads me to low consumption for the sheer pleasure of "playing the game", as well as decreasing my impact on the planet!
The car is fun to drive, still peppy in performance (accelerates quickly with the Econ button off & shows no sign of strain at 150 km/h or 90 m/h (just testing!) ), and cool, cool to look at. I couldn't be happier!"

"I went to dealerships and looked at many cars until i bought this one. When i walked to the honda dealer i liked this one and bought it.. I asked if these cars had nav system and moon roof and the salesman told me no....So i bought it for my wife anyway....then i found out that there is the EX model wich was closer to what i was looking for....so now that i've driven my LX i and the EX....the lx is not worth the money comparing to EX...it doesn't have cruise control, nav system stability control system..and the reason is not worth the money because the difference between the EX and LX money wise is not too big and having the extra things that the EX model has is well worth the money.Of course i was not the smart one for not reseaching but If you really want a nice Insight get the EX and forget the LX... LX is not as fun as the EX, when you drive a LX if feels that you're driving a cheap brand new ford focus.. I like the insight but i will trade it for a prius because it gets better gas milage and the 2010 is more powerful...insight is weak...i'm aware that it is a hybrid but the new prius has a lot more power and better features and it looks the same anyway."

"Purchased the car three days ago. Flawless finish, peppy engine, many usefull features. However, surprised it does not have automatic headlights. Drives rather smoothly, but acceleration off the line you are reminded of a golf cart. Economy is very good. Smooth on the highway, with sufficient passing power. The interior is comfortable, but I'd like a larger storage armrest. Navigation system is fun and has a lot of features. iPod connection allows me to use my large music library with ease."

"I purchased this vehicle after driving the dealer's demo for an hour. This vehicle has a lot of features. You have to remember that this is an economy car and not a sports car.
The craftsmanship in this vehicle is great . Everything fits together perfectly.
The vehicle provides feed back on your driving efficiencies by the changing background behind the speedometer and from the message display. This will allow you to get over 46 mpg in the city. If you use the eco mode you should get over 50 mpg.
I am getting 46 mpg with only 150 miles on the car. I expect it to go up when the engine breaks in like in other Hondas."
